Russian skier takes silver in men's cross-country 50km race

TURIN, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Yevgeny Dementyev won the silver Sunday in men's cross-country 50km race during the last day of Winter Olympics in Turin.
Italy's Georgio di Centa finished ahead of the Russian skier only 0.8 seconds to win the gold and Mikhail Botwinov from Austria finished behind Dementyev 0.1 seconds to take the bronze.
Dementyev, who also won the gold at the current Olympics in men's cross-country 30km pursuit, brought Russia sixth silver medal. The Russian Olympic team is currently the fourth in the unofficial team standings following Germany, the United States and Austria with eight gold, six silver and eight bronze medals.
