MOSCOW, August 22 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian and Polish national soccer teams ended their Wednesday friendly at the Lokomotiv stadium in Moscow with a 2-2 draw.

The Russian team, whose main aim currently is to qualify for the Euro-2008 finals, went into halftime with a confident 2-0 lead over the Poles. However, the team's confidence evaporated after the Poles broke through the Russian defense line in the 73rd minute to score the first goal, and again four minutes later to score another goal to tie the match.

The Russian team will play its next games as part of the Euro-2008 against Macedonia September 8 at home, and against England in an away match September 12.

Speaking earlier about Russia's chances of qualifying for the championship in Austria and Switzerland next year, Russia's Dutch coach Guus Hiddink, 60, who signed a two-year contract worth 4 million euros last year to head the Russian team, said everything would be decided in the fall, when Russia meets England.
