Russia's Elena Dementieva won her first Kremlin Cup title after beating world No. 7 Serena Williams of the U.S. 5-7 6-1 6-1 in the final in Moscow on Sunday.
MOSCOW, October 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Elena Dementieva won her first Kremlin Cup title after beating world No. 7 Serena Williams of the U.S. 5-7 6-1 6-1 in the final in Moscow on Sunday.

In the semi-finals held on Saturday, Dementieva, ranked No. 14, beat fellow Russian Dinara Safina 6-1, 6-0 in just over an hour while former world No. 1 Williams, the reigning Australian Open champion, struggled in the first set against top-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia, but sailed through the second to win 7-6 (2), 6-1.
