Russia's Kirilenko, Petrova out of Australian Open after day 8

MOSCOW, January 21 (RIA Novosti) - Two Russian women players were defeated in the fourth round of the 2008 Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne, Australia, on Monday.
In the women's singles Maria Kirilenko, seeded 27, fought for almost two and a half hours but lost to Daniela Hantuchova (9) of Slovakia 6-1, 4-6, 4-6.
Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska (29) defeated another Russian, Nadezhda Petrova (14), 1-6, 7-5, 6-0, to become the first Polish woman to reach a grand slam quarterfinal.
On Tuesday former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova (5) of Russia, will play a quarterfinal match against the top-seed and current world No. 1 Justine Henin of Belgium.
In the men's singles on Tuesday, Russia's Mikhail Yuzhny (14) will meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the quarterfinals.
