MOSCOW, February 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russian former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev punched Belarusian Sergey Liakhovich into hospital in a bout on Saturday in Nuremburg, Germany, earning himself a chance to regain his title.

Valuev, the largest and heaviest boxing champion of all time at 213 cms (seven foot) and up to 151 kilos (24 stone) dominated the twelve-round bout. Liakhovich was admitted to hospital after the fight had finished.

The "Russian Giant's" victory earned him a rematch against WBA champion, Uzbekistan's Ruslan Chagaev, the only man to defeat him in his career, the loss coming in April 2007 during a WBA title fight.

Valuev's record now stands at 48 wins, one loss, and one no contest.
