Russia's Kunitsyn wins Kremlin Cup title

MOSCOW, October 12 (RIA Novosti) - Igor Kunitsyn claimed the 2008 Moscow Cup title on Sunday after beating Marat Safin 7-6 (8-6), 6-7 (4-7), 6-3 in an all-Russia men's singles final.
Earlier on Sunday, world number one tennis player Jelena Jankovic from Serbia claimed the 2008 Kremlin Cup title after beating Russian Vera Zvonareva 6-2, 6-4 in the final.
The tournament prize money in the women's singles is some $1.34 million, while the men's singles competition has $1.05 million up for grabs.
The Kremlin Cup, held this year for the 19th time, was Russia's first international professional tournament and is one of the richest events in the ATP's (Association of Tennis Professionals) International Series.
