MOSCOW, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - Former Tottenham Hotspur forward and Ukrainian international Sergei Rebrov has hung up his boots and will start work as a trainer at Dynamo Kiev, the club said on Monday.

"Rebrov is finishing his playing career...I have offered him the position of assistant to the trainer of the reserves. Sergei has agreed," Dynamo Kiev president Igor Surkis said on the club's website.

Rebrov, 35, started his career with Shakhtar Donetsk in 1991 before moving to Dynamo Kiev in 1992. He stayed with the Kiev club until 2000, striking up a partnership with Andriy Shevchenko and reaching the semifinals of the Champions League in 1999.

He signed for Tottenham in 2000, but managed only 10 goals in 60 league games, later being loaned out to Turkish club Fenerbahce before signing a one-year contract with London's West Ham United.

After England, Rebrov returned to Dynamo Kiev before signing a deal with Rubin Kazan in 2008, winning the Russian Premier League in his only full season with the club. A planned move to Arsenal Kiev fell through.

He also appeared 75 times for Ukraine, scoring 15 goals.
