MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - Andrei Arshavin trained on Monday with Russia after appearing to shake off the injury that saw him miss Saturday's win over Liechtenstein, the player said on his official website.
Later in the day, Arshavin and Russia flew to Wales for Wednesday's vital World Cup qualifier in Cardiff.
The Arsenal forward aggravated a groin injury during the club's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in late August and sat out the 3-0 victory over minnows Liechtenstein.
Guus Hiddink's side are in second place in 2010 World Cup qualifying Group 4, one point behind leaders Germany.
While Russia may have cause to be optimistic over Arshavin, new Chelsea signing Yury Zhirkov looks set to miss the Cardiff game with an injury that has seen him out since the beginning of the English Premier League season.
