MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's WBA Heavyweight World Champion Nikolai Valuev said that former undisputed cruiserweight champion David Haye of Britain should rather act than promise to knock him out.
Haye (22-1, 21 KOs), who is scheduled to fight Valuev on November 7 in Germany's Nurnberg, earlier told the media that the "Beast from the East" has never been knocked out in the ring as he never faced him.
"Haye is not the first to say this. There were others. I believe it is better to act rather than to speak," Valuev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The 35-year-old Valuev (50-1, 34 KOs) retained his WBA heavyweight title in December 2008 in a controversial split decision against four-time world champion Evander Holyfield and has not fought since.
Valuev was later scheduled to fight Uzbekistan's Ruslan Chagaev on May 30 in Helsinki, but the bout was called off after the Uzbek fighter was diagnosed with a mild form of Hepatitis B and was unable to meet the Finnish boxing federation's medical requirements.
