Rubin stay calm after Barcelona win

MOSCOW, October 21 (RIA Novosti) - Despite Tuesday evening's dramatic win over Barcelona in the Nou Camp, Russian champions Rubin Kazan are determined to keep their feet on the ground.

Rubin's 2-1 victory in Spain means that the club, from Russia's Muslim republic of Tatarstan, are joint leaders of Champions League Group 4 with Barcelona and Dynamo Kiev.

"We are of course pleased with the win," Rubin captain Sergei Semak told the bobsoccer.ru website. "We have two home games left and an away game. We'll do our best to make sure we are involved in the fight for a play-off place right up until the last game."

"The victory over Barcelona was amazing, but it's history," he went on. "The most important match for our club now is against Rostov [in the Russian Premier League]."

Rubin are currently one point ahead of Spartak Moscow as they seek a second consecutive title. The Russian season runs until the end of November.

Semak's words were echoed by Argentine attacker Alejandro Dominguez.

"We are really glad about the win," he told bobsoccer.ru, "but we can't forget that we have a tough end to the season, and so we can't revel in the win for long."
