Rubin thirst for Champions League revenge as Kiev come to town

Newly crowned Russian champions Rubin Kazan will seek revenge when they host Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday evening in the Champions League, and could even seal their spot in the last 16.
The Tatarstan side clinched their second successive title with a 0-0 draw at home to Zenit St. Petersburg on Saturday, and could make the knockout stages of the Champions League with a match to spare if they beat Dynamo and Barcelona lose at home to Inter Milan.
Rubin's European campaign got off to a shaky start with a 3-1 defeat in the Ukrainian capital on September 16 before a draw with Inter Milan in Kazan and a stunning victory over Barcelona at the Nou Camp. With the return game ending 0-0, Rubin are now second in Group F, one point behind leaders Inter.
Rubin's final game is in Milan, where they will need just a point to progress if they beat Dynamo.
"We clearly lacked experience in the opening game," Rubin forward Alejandro Dominguez told the Sport Dyen za Dnyem website. "But in the subsequent matches we tried to prove that we are also a big team and can challenge for the top places in the group of death."
"We have an excellent chance of making the Champions League play-off stages," the Argentinean went on. "A historic chance! But I have to admit I am also thirsting for revenge."
"It's very important that we won the Russian title on Saturday, which means the players don't have to think about the final domestic match of the season and can concentrate fully on this game," said Rubin trainer Kurban Berdyev, who celebrated his side's title victory with a nifty and unexpected display of dancing feet.
"The players have recovered and are ready. The most important thing on Tuesday is the result, not how we play, though I presume the match will be played at full throttle with both teams going for it," he told the UEFA website.
Dynamo Kiev, managed by former CSKA Moscow coach Valery Gazzayev, have a number of injury problems, with Ukrainian international Olexandr Aliyev out with an ankle problem.
The match kicks off at 8:45 p.m. (14:45 GMT) and will be shown live on Russia's NTV channel.
