U.S. boxer Eddie Chambers has promised to grab all three heavyweight champion belts from Ukraine's Wladimir Klitschko and bring them home after the March 20 bout in Germany's Dusseldorf.
The FightNews.com boxing website reported that the managing team of WBO, IBF and IBO Heavyweight Champion 'Dr. Steelhammer' Klitschko (53-3, 47 KOs) had decided to hold a title defense bout with 'Fast' Chambers (35-1, 18 KOs) at the 51,000-seat football stadium.
The 27-year-old Philadelphian, who has earned the right to face Klitschko after beating Ukraine's Alexander Dimitrenko in a world title eliminator last July, said "He [Wladimir] is the favorite, but I am confident and will take his belts to the U.S."
"I worked very hard for this championship fight. In the way I surprised Dimitrenko I am going to take Klitschko by surprise and will collect his three belts," the website quoted Chambers as saying.
The 34-year-old Ukrainian, who has not fought since last June, said only that he was glad to be back and fighting in front of a huge audience.
"I am really happy to be back in the ring... This fight is going to take place in a giant stadium. An audience of over 50,000 spectators is a further motivation for me. Chambers is currently the best heavyweight boxer from the U.S.," he said.
Wladimir also held his last title defense bout at a football stadium, when he defeated Uzbekistan's Ruslan 'the White Tyson' Chagaev in front of a crowd of 61,000 at the Schalke 04 stadium in Germany last June.
