Russia's Ivan Skobrev said his emotions "drained out" after he brought his country first 2010 Vancouver Olympics medal having won bronze in men's 5,000 m Speed Skating.
"There were no emotions left, I was very tired. I wanted to rejoice, to shed a tear, but there were no emotions left," he said at a news conference in Russia House.
He added that he was glad with today's performance and he hoped to compete for at least two more medals at this Olympic Games.
"On the whole, I am satisfied with my performance. I have been striving to reach this all my life, since my parents helped me to put on my skates when I was three years old," he added.
Sven Kramer of the Netherlands won gold setting a new Olympic record of 6 minutes 14.60 seconds, which is some four seconds faster than Skobrev.
Seung-Hoon Lee, a young athlete from South Korea, showed a sensational performance, finishing the distance with the result of 6 minutes 16.95 seconds to win the silver for his country.
