The Russian team won eight Paralympic medals on the final day of the 2010 Paralympic Games in Vancouver, and retained its lead in the overall medal count.
Russian athletes took one gold, four silver and three bronze medals, bringing the overall number of medals won by Russia to 38 (12 gold, 16 silver and eight bronze).
Russian skiers won the whole podium in Men's 1 km Sprint, Sitting (Sergey Shilov - gold, Irek Zaripov - silver, Vladimir Kiselev - bronze).
Russian skier Mikhalina Lysova took the silver in Women's 1 km Sprint Classic, Visually Impaired, finishing 30 seconds behind the leader, Verena Bentele of Germany. Russia's Liubov Vasilyeva came third, 40.2 seconds behind Bentele.
Two silvers were won by Russian skiers Nikolay Polukhin (Men's 1 km Sprint Classic, Visually Impaired) and Kirill Mikhaylov (Men's 1 km Sprint Classic, Standing).
Anna Burmistrova took the bronze in Women's 1 km Sprint Classic, Standing.
The top five countries in the overall medal count are Russia, Germany (13 gold, 5 silver, 6 bronze), Canada (10 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze), Ukraine (5 gold, 8 silver, 6 bronze) and the U.S. (4 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze).
Athletes representing 21 countries won a total of 192 medals (64 gold, 65 silver and 63 bronze) at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Games.
