Russia is a “sporting power” with a leading position in the sphere of international youth sports, the president of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) said.

George Killian said the forthcoming international forum Russia Is a Sports Power, which will run in Moscow from July 29-August 1, would be attended by many distinguished guests, willing to help promote the development of youth sports. Killian also plans to attend the event.

He said the FISU had close and long-term relations with the Russian Students Sports Union.

Killian praised the development of sports in Russia in the past 40 years, including Russia’s success at every summer and winter student games.
