The first federal center for the development of equestrian sports in Russia is due to be opened following the signing of a memorandum by the FEI, the sports ministry and the Russian Equestrian Federation.
The memorandum was signed on Thursday by Federation Equestre Internationale President Princess Haya Bint al Hussein, Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko and REF President Dmitry Titov. The signing ceremony was held after Mutko met with the heads of international federations of sports at the Russia Is A Sport Power forum.
The head of FEI mentioned the importance of the memorandum saying that “Russia made a major contribution to the development of equestrian sports.”
“I am very pleased that we have reached full mutual understanding with the REF and the ministry…This day is a really happy one for our federation and for equestrian sports in general”, Princess Haya Bint al Hussein said.
The Russia Is A Sport Power international sports forum is being held in Moscow from July 29 to August 1, 2010.
