Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova has reached the Sony Ericsson Open final in Miami by beating Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki in three sets.

The semifinal match on Thursday lasted two hours and 34 minutes and ended with a score of 4:6, 6:2, 6:4.

Second seed Sharapova lost the first set due to frequent errors in the serve but managed to recover in the second to dominate the match afterwards.

“I'm extremely pleased that I pulled it out today," Sharapova told reporters after the game.

She will face in the final on Saturday the winner of another semifinal match between France’s Marion Bartoli (seeded No.7) and Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska (seeded No. 5).

This will be Sharapova’s fourth final in Miami. She lost all three previous attempts to win the title.
