Roman Kontsedalov's penalty rescued a 2-2 draw for Spartak Nalchik against FC Rostov in the Russian Premier League on Wednesday.

Nalchik, bottom of the league, are already relegated after last week's goalless draw against Krylya Sovetov, but salvaged some pride by snatching a point in the Caucasus, where both teams finished with 10 men.

Kontsedalov slotted low to the right to seal the draw from the spot 10 minutes from time after Alexander Shchanitsin was upended in the box.

Nalchik had taken the lead as early as the fifth minute through midfielder Semyon Fomin, who went on a solo run, laid off the ball to a teammate and diverted the return home.

Rostov equalized through Argentinean striker Héctor Bracamonte's penalty kick on 22 minutes after Nalchik's Miodrag Dzudovic handled in the area.

Nalchik were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark when defender Alexei Aravin got a second yellow card for a foul on Igor Smolnikov.

It took Rostov just five minutes to capitalize, with Moldovan midfielder Alexandru Gatcan ramming home a rebound after Khoren Bairamyan's shot cannoned off a post.

With two games to go, Rostov retain 12th place, just one point away from the relegation playoff zone. Krylya Sovetov underneath can drop them into it if they beat fellow strugglers Tom Tomsk on Thursday.
