Three second-half goals gave Terek Grozny their first win in four games for a 3-1 comeback victory over FC Volga in the Russian Premier League on Wednesday.
Midfielder Alexander Shulenin put Volga in front on 11 minutes in Nizhny Novgorod, heading home Andrei Karyaka's free kick.
Igor Lebedenko poked home from close range to level it on 67 minutes, before Polish midfielder Maceij Rybus put the visitors ahead with a 72nd-minute free kick that crashed in off the post.
Zaur Sadaev's late penalty made sure of the points.
It marks a big step toward safety for 11th-placed Terek, who go four points clear of Krylya Sovetov in the relegation playoff zone.
Fourteenth-placed Volga look all but assured of having to play a First Division side to remain the top tier next season, on 41 points.
The score was the exact reverse of March's game, when Volga scored a 3-1 win at Terek.
Two games remain.
