Two-time European diving champion Ilya Zakharov expects the London Olympics to be incomparable to any other competition, he told R-Sport on Saturday.
Zakharov, 21, won two silvers at last year's World Acquatics Championships in Shanghai, but expects London to take things to a new level.
"I don't know what the Olympics are yet," Zakharov said. "They say it is a very different competition, not even compared to the world championships. Now I'm trying not to imagine what will be there."
Zakharov has already won a medal at the Olympic venue, the London Acquatics Centre, a silver with Yevgeny Kuznetsov in the synchronised event at the World Cup in February.
"The pool there is closed," he said. "On one hand, it's good, but on the other hand, not really, because there is different light - that's important. ... Everything is great, there are no complaints to the organizers."
Russia will be vying for medals in 25 of 37 disciplines at the Games, which start Friday. The first diving events are next Sunday.
