Striker Alexander Prudnikov has signed for FC Kuban after moving from Spartak Moscow, where he felt shut out, he told R-Sport on Thursday.
Prudnikov, 23, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at Kuban, who finished eighth in the Russian league last season, and the stage is set for him to make his Kuban debut against his old club.
“I didn’t get a chance to prove myself at Spartak,” Prudnikov said, adding that he felt new coach Unai Emery had not seen his skills.
“There is a new coach in the team and I don’t know what he’s been told about me, if he’s been told anything at all, but really I didn’t get an opportunity to show anything during training.”
“A couple of phrases that I exchanged with coach Emery are hardly a conversation.”
A product of the Spartak youth academy, Prudnikov spent last season at Anzhi on loan, scoring three goals in 19 appearances.
He also had loan spells with FC Tomsk, Sparta Prague and Terek Grozny.
