Over 1 Million People to Take Part in All-Russia Race

Cross-Country Race of the Nation-2011 In Russia's Omsk

MOSCOW, September 23 (RIA Novosti)

Over 1 million people are expected to take part in a nationwide running day entitled Cross-Country Race of the Nation that Russia will on hold on Sunday.

The race is one of Russia’s largest sports events. Participants will run races varying from 2 to 12 kilometers (1.2-7.5 miles) in 80 regions of the country. Foreigners are also allowed to participate.

Last year, more than 1.2 million people took part in the race.
