Spartak Moscow midfielder Jose Manuel Jurado is out for up to a month with a thigh injury, the team said Thursday.
The Spaniard picked up a minor tear of an adductor muscle in his thigh during the Russian Premier League game against FC Rostov last Sunday, which the Muscovites won 3-1.
In the same game, Spartak’s Brazilian midfielder Romulo suffered a season-ending knee injury when he landed awkwardly on the artificial pitch at Luzhniki Stadium from an aerial challenge with Rostov defender Isaac Okoronkwo.
Romulo arrived in Germany on Thursday for surgery, the team said.
Jurado joined Spartak on loan from FC Schalke earlier this month, and has one assist in three games for Unai Emery's side.
Defenders Nicolas Pareja, Kirill Kombarov and midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov returned from their injuries and were back in training on Thursday, while striker Welliton is set to be fit soon.
Spartak are sixth with 16 points after nine games in the Russian Premier League. Unai Emery's side face Amkar Perm away on Saturday and Celtic at home in the Champions League on Tuesday.
