Robinho to Start Zenit Clash on Bench – Source
ST. PETERSBURG, October 3 (RIA Novosti)
Brazilian forward Robinho will be on the bench for AC Milan's Champions League match against Zenit St. Petersburg on Wednesday, a source in the Italian team told R-Sport.
Robinho returned from a month out with a thigh injury in the 2-0 home win over Cagliari a week ago, but is yet to achieve full fitness, the source said.
Fullback Mattia De Sciglio, who also arrived in Russia with the team, is also a doubt, the source said.
Captain Massimo Ambrosini will miss the match due to a minor injury, the source added.
The squad is already depleted with left-back Francesco Acerbi and Algerian center-back Djamel Mesbah not making the trip.
Zenit are missing Portuguese midfielder Miguel Danny, who is recovering from tearing a cruciate ligament, and Russia captain Igor Denisov, who was dropped to the reserves team on disciplinary grounds.
Both teams experienced a disappointing start to their Champions League campaign, with Zenit suffering a 3-0 away defeat to Malaga and Milan drawing 0-0 with Anderlecht at the San Siro.
