Anzhi Offer Condolences to Families of Flood Victims

Russian football team Anzhi Makhachkala expressed condolences Thursday to the families of flood victims in their home province.
Six people were killed Tuesday night when strong downpours hit the the city of Derbent, on the western shores of the Caspian Sea.
According to government data, 1,120 people were affected in the flood zone.
“As you know, terrible weather hit the southern settlements of our republic," Anzhi said in a website statement. “Anzhi football club offer their deepest condolences to the friends and families of the deceased.”
Makhachkala, where Anzhi play their home games, is about 150 kilometers south of Derbent on the Caspian coast.
In July, floods killed 171 people in and around the town of Krymsk in the southern Krasnodar region of Russia.
