MOSCOW, January 23 (R-Sport) - Two goals from former Montreal Canadiens center Jan Bulis helped Traktor Chelyabinsk crush Metallurg Magnitogorsk 4-1 in the KHL on Wednesday.
After its fourth straight win, Traktor stays fourth in the Eastern Conference and moves level on points with third-placed Metallurg.
Bulis opened the score on 15 minutes, converting an accurate pass from Evgeny Kuznetsov before hitting his second early in the second period to make the score 2-0.
KHL top scorer Sergei Mozyakin scored one for Metallurg in the third period, but two power play goals from Traktor center Petri Kontiola and defenseman Alexander Shinin sealed the victory for the host team.
Elsewhere in the East, Salavat Yulaev Ufa jumped to fifth in the conference after beating Sibir Novosibirsk 3-1.
Salavat started the game at a high tempo and was 2-0 up after 10 minutes of play thanks to goals from defenseman Ildar Isangulov and former Columbus Blue Jackets center Alexander Svitov.
Finnish wing Antti Pihlstrom consolidated Salavat’s lead in the third period, before his compatriot Jori Lehtera scored a consolation goal for Sibir in the last minute.
Sibir dropped to sixth in the East.
