MOSCOW, February 11 (R-Sport) - Ticket sales for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics started in Britain on Monday.
Sales started online through the CoSport reselling agency at 12 p.m. local time.
The same agency will start ticket sales in the U.S. at 12 p.m. in New York (5 p.m. GMT) and has already begun sales in Australia. Canada, Brazil and various European countries will also start sales Monday.
Russia’s first Winter Olympics have already seen brisk domestic sales since tickets went on sale Thursday.
Russia’s entire allocation of tickets for the men’s hockey gold medal game appeared to sell out in half an hour, and figure skating and women’s curling are among the other events to have seen heavy demand.

The growing outright rivalry between the United States and China gives Russia more foreign policy weight, enabling it to assume the role of a balancer. So far it has been doing so rather skillfully. Today it may participate in a joint naval exercise with China that Beijing positions as outwardly anti-American. But tomorrow it can team up with the naval forces of the Old World.
