MOSCOW, December 2 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow police arrested a transsexual, who insisted on being called Svetlana, on Tuesday on suspicion of theft from a Russian man who passed out after a drinking session, a police spokesperson said.

The 29-year-old unsuspecting victim told police he had met two young women on a night out in Moscow. He said the women invited him back to their apartment for a nightcap, where the man passed out.

"Perhaps the vodka was too strong, or he was affected by the excessive alcohol and as a result passed out, after which the women took his apartment keys from his pocket and went to his home, where they stole a TV, an old cassette player and five sets of bedding before returning to their sleeping guest," the spokesperson said.

When the man came to and discovered the theft he reported the crime to Moscow police, who quickly tracked down the thieves.

However, both the police and victim were extremely surprised to find out that one of the women was actually a 23-year-old male to female transsexual who insisted on being called Svetlana.
