RIA Novosti correspondents recently spent a week in North Korea, one of the world’s most closed countries. Under the supervision of two officials from the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea, they learned what foreigners are supposed to think of the country. But they also tried to gain an insight into the real life of North Koreans.

Soldiers, workers and students had been given time off for the match, and the 30,000-capacity stadium was full. Uzbekistan won the match 1-0, leaving the North Korean side's qualification hopes in tatters.
