Last Section of Vladivostok Bridge Installed

On Saturday, workers installed the last section of a bridge spanning Zolotoi Rog (Golden Horn) Harbor in Vladivostok. The bridge is to open in the run-up to the 2012 APEC Leaders’ Meeting. It took about six hours to install the last bridge section in windless weather.

Mass grave unearthed by APEC summit road crew

Several months ago workers building a federal road to the site of the 2012 APEC summit near Vladivostok unearthed a mass grave. The grave held the victims of political persecution campaigns in the 1930s. The project was immediately suspended and the site cordoned off.
