Nuclear Deal - Russia Vacillates on Iran Sanctions

Both Russia and China have historically negated the imposition of new sanctions on Iran although Medvedev hinted that the Russian position might shift due to Tehran's disclosure its secret uranium enrichment site near Qom.

Russia has the strongest ties with Tehran of any world power. Its capacity to provide technical help for the Iranian nuclear drive is seen by some experts as giving it an unmatched power of leverage in Tehran.
