
Russia and the Nord Stream will be playing an increasingly larger role in the EU’s energy supply. Recent cold weather in Europe and particularly in England has also brought that realisation home when, due to the disruptions to the North Sea gas supplies, Russia came to the rescue.
Although Nord Stream would ease the need for energy supply, the European Union would become even more dependent on a single supplier than it already is.
