Iran to open Russian-built nuclear power plant

The emergence of a new nuclear power is against Moscow's interests, as it would weaken its own position. But Russia says it does not regard Bushehr as a proliferation danger.
More than 2,000 Russians are working at the construction site, which is also monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Russia also hopes to stay on Iran's good side while it tries secure its rights to the oil and gas resources in the Caspian Sea, which it shares with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan.
