Russian parliament set to recognize South Ossetia and Abkhazia’s independence

Members of the Federation Council, the upper house of Russia’s parliament, discussed the situation in South Ossetia and Abkhazia and passed a draft resolution to President Medvedev, backing the independence of the two breakaway regions.
