Wearing high heels and cocktail dresses, contestants for the upcoming Miss Russia 2010 beauty pageant were presented to journalists on St. Valentine's Day, February 14. This day, the contest’s 50 participants learned to dance the waltz and the cha-cha.
The pageant drew participants from cities and towns across Russia. Prior to the contest, the girls will spend a month living in a hotel outside Moscow taking classes in speech, acting and the runway negotiating skills necessary for any chance to succeed in the pageant’s final competition. The schedule also includes fitness classes and visits to the beauty salon. A special diet developed for the beauties includes vegetables, fruits and dairy products, according to event organizers.
The winner will get $100,000 from the event’s general partner and will represent Russia at prestigious international beauty pageants, including Miss World and Miss Universe. The Miss Russia 2010 final is scheduled for March 6.
