Run silent, run deep: Russia boasts most silent nuclear attack submarine

The latest generation Severodvinsk nuclear attack submarine will make the Russian Navy stronger, President Dmitry Medvedev said at the launching ceremony.

The Severodvinsk, the first fourth-generation nuclear attack submarine to enter service with the Russian Navy, has powerful weapons systems, including supersonic cruise missiles and deep-sea homing torpedoes, for hitting underwater, surface and land targets. The submarine is also equipped with the latest telecommunications and navigation systems.
