On the second day of his visit to the United States, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met with executives from Twitter, Apple, Yandex, Google, Cisco Systems, Intel, Boeing, Microsoft and other leading American companies. The president says that the purpose of his visit to Silicon Valley, the “brains” of the U.S., is strictly business.
Cisco Systems, one of the global leaders in networking, has already joined the board of trustees of Russia’s Skolkovo project, which aims to create an innovation center near Moscow. Google, Microsoft, Intel, Boeing and other American industrial and high-tech companies are expected to sign onto the project during President Medvedev’s visit.
