Yanukovich sure of his party's victory at parliamentary elections
He said this to journalists in Kiev on Wednesday commenting on the statement of the parliamentary faction Our Ukraine regarding the opposition-prepared wrecking of the parliamentary elections, RIA Novosti learnt from the Regional Party press service.
"We are witnessing power being discredited over a very short span of time. Not only our young opposition but even the most active opposition in the world cannot have done that," Yanukovich said.
To him, oppositionists "are interested in the holding of honest and open parliamentary elections because by its actions the authorities give us a vast chance of winning a convincing victory in these elections," the ex-premier stressed.
Yanukovich, a former candidate for presidency in Ukraine, lost to Viktor Yuschenko in the second round of election. The political crisis over the presidential election in October-December 2004 is named "orange revolution".
