KIEV, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - Former Ukrainian Secretary of State Oleksandr Zinchenko spoke positively about his successor Oleh Rybachuk, a Ukrainian news agency reported Wednesday.

Zinchenko said he treated Ribachuk with respect, Novosti-Ukraina reported.

Zinchenko said he approved of a decision by the country's law enforcement bodies to investigate the facts he cited at a recent press conference, adding that he would provide available proof.

But he also said he had not yet seen President Viktor Yushchenko's response to his accusations. Zinchenko said Yushchenko understood this was not a personal conflict between himself and Petro Poroshenko, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

"No doubt, such a serious event as a session of the National Security and Defense Council should have issued some statement. I am not speaking about the resignation of some official, not even about the resignation of Petro Poroshenko. I am just saying that something is wrong in our country," Zinchenko said.

At a Monday press conference in Kiev, Zinchenko accused Poroshenko, top presidential aide Oleksandr Tretyakov and head of the parliamentary faction Our Ukraine Mykola Martynenko of an attempt to use power in their own interests.
