KIEV, September 12 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko is scheduled to visit the United States on September 14-18 for the 60th Session of the UN General Assembly, a presidential spokesman said.

Yushchenko plans to address the session on September 15 and to hold high-level bilateral meetings, including with leaders of Brazil, Iran, and the prime minister of Belgium, the spokesman said.

The president, accompanied by his wife Katerina Chumachenko, is also scheduled to take part in events hosted by the Orange Circle, a new international non-profit initiative to support Ukrainian democracy.

Yushchenko plans to attend meetings with heads of U.S. financial corporations, leading American media, and representatives from several religious organizations and from the Ukrainian diaspora during the visit, the spokesman said, adding that the president is also scheduled to take part in the ceremonial opening of the U.S. office of Ukreximbank, one of Ukraine's ten largest banks.

On September 18 Yushchenko is scheduled to visit Philadelphia to be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian award, at the National Constitution Center.
