MOSCOW, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered humanitarian more aid for the victims of Hurricane Katrina in the United States, the ministry's press service said Friday. "An Il-76 cargo aircraft delivered 17.6 metric tons of medicines to Little Rock, Arkansas, for the population of the states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana Thursday night," it said.
On September 8, two airplanes provided by the ministry brought first Russian humanitarian aid which totaled 44 tons and included tents, blankets and rations.
According to the latest information, Katrina left 792 people dead.
