BEIJIN, September 20 (RIA Novosti, Alexei Yefimov) - China wants dialogue with Japan over disputed territorial issues, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang said at a briefing regarding Japan's charge that China is extracting natural gas in the East China Sea, territory claimed by Tokyo.
"We are ready to hold discussions with Japan to settle related differences. This will contribute to peace and stability in the East China Sea region," the spokesman said.
The remark followed Japanese Minister for Economy, Trade, Industry and Commerce Shoichi Nakagawa's charge that a Chinese gas company has begun extracting gas from a field in the disputed region of the East China Sea.
