ASTANA, January 6 (RIA Novosti) - An accident which took place during the loading of an oil tanker docked at the Caspian port of Aktau in western Kazakhstan has caused a metric ton of crude to be spilled into the sea, the Kazakh Emergency Situations Ministry said Friday.
"On Friday morning, about a ton of oil was spilled into the sea during the loading of the Lenkoran tanker, registered in Baku. There were no victims," the ministry said.
Operations to draw the oil out of the water are being carried out, the ministry said.
