Georgia in talks with Iran on gas imports
12:00 22/01/2006
TBILISI, January 22 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - Georgia is holding talks with Iran on gas imports into the republic, the Georgian Fuel and Energy Ministry said Sunday.
As it was reported earlier, two explosions early Sunday on trunk pipelines running through southern Russia cut gas supplies to Georgia and Armenia.
"If large damage was done to the pipelines and it will take long to repair them, Georgia will start gas imports from Iran via Azerbaijan," the ministry said.
