TBILISI, January 22 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - The Georgian gas import company started importing natural gas from neighboring Azerbaijan, after the explosions on pipelines running across southern Russia cut natural gas supplies to Georgia and Armenia, the company's press office said Sunday.

"Already in the evening, at about 9.00 p.m. Moscow time (6:00 p.m. GMT), natural gas supplies will reach Georgia," the company said. At the same time, the company didn't specify gas volumes.

The Russian Emergency Ministry said it would take at least two or three days to repair the pipelines.

The Georgian Fuel and Energy Ministry also said it was holding talks with Iran on gas supplies to the republic.
