Russia, Greece hold similar positions on Iran, Kosovo - minister
ATHENS, February 4 (RIA Novosti, Alexei Bogdanovsky) - Russia and Greece hold similar positions on the Iranian nuclear issue and regulating the situation in Kosovo, the Greek foreign minister said Saturday.
Petros Molyviatis said, "On Iran, Greece believes that diplomacy is the main priority for reaching mutually acceptable solutions."
"On the Balkans, I should note that although this region has moved into a period of normalization, the risk of volatility and instability has not disappeared. So any steps in the region should be taken with particular care," the minister said.
"Russia, as a member of the UN Security Council and the Contact Group for Kosovo, plays a very important role in solving both problems. Close cooperation through the UN Security council on both these issues is leading to a substantial agreement in our views," he said.
