VIENNA, February 4 (RIA Novosti) - Iran will immediately begin uranium enrichment activities, a senior Iranian security official said Saturday after the UN's nuclear watchdog adopted a resolution to inform the UN Security Council about the Islamic Republic's nuclear file.

"After the UN Security Council has been informed, Iran will be forced to put an immediate stop to voluntary observation of provisions to the additional protocol of the agreement on guarantees to the IAEA... We will fully resume uranium enrichment," Jawad Vaeidi said.

The additional protocol allows the International Atomic Energy Agency to conduct sudden inspections and other monitoring measures over Iran's nuclear program.

According to the resolution, IAEA Director General Mohammed ElBaradei is set to deliver a report on the Iranian nuclear program to the UN Security Council.

The resolution says the international community is not convinced that Iran's nuclear program is intended for purely peaceful purposes. The IAEA said it had not reached a final conclusion on the possibility of secret nuclear activity in Iran after three-year inspections, and expressed its concern over Iran's technical documents, which could be used to create nuclear weapons.

The nuclear watchdog urges Iran to resume its moratorium on nuclear fuel research, to ratify an additional protocol to its agreement with the IAEA, and to allow the agency to clarify all aspects of its past nuclear activities.

The resolution was coordinated by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (Russia, the U.S., China, Britain and France), along with Germany.
