
TBILISI, March 6 (RIA Novosti, Marina Kvaratskhelia) - Georgia's leading veterinary official said Monday that bird flu had been confirmed in the country's Black Sea autonomy of Adzharia.
Head of an agriculture ministry's veterinary department Jambul Maglakelidze said: "The virus has been confirmed." He said the H5 strain of the virus had been found by scientists in London in the body of a swan that died in late February and laboratory tests were on going.
