Slobodan Milosevic's brother hospitalized in Moscow

14:00 13/03/2006

MOSCOW, March 13 (RIA Novosti) - The brother of former Yugoslavian President Slobodan Milosevic, who died in The Hague Saturday, was hospitalized in Moscow Monday.

Borislav Milosevic, who lives in the Russian capital, said in a telephone interview that he was in hospital, but failed to specify the nature of his illness.

"I would not like to talk about it at the moment," he said.

Meanwhile, a source in Moscow's Bakulev Research Center of Cardiovascular Surgery, the country's leading heart center, said Milosevic was recovering after suffering an irregular heartbeat during the night and was expected to be released from a hospital Tuesday. However, the source added that he had to undergo some tests.

Borislav Milosevic, who was Yugoslavia's ambassador in Moscow in 1998-2001, decided against returning to his country after new authorities came to power in Belgrade in 2000.

Slobodan Milosevic, who was on trial for war crimes at the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, was found dead in his cell in The Hague Tribunal's prison March 11. Preliminary reports suggest he died of a heart attack.
