KIEV, March 26 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Suprun) - A Ukrainian independent pollster announced its 10:00 a.m. GMT exit polls, ranking the opposition Party of Regions first in the country's Sunday parliamentary elections.

The All-Ukrainian Sociological Service said the Party of Regions, led by Viktor Yanukovich, Ukraine's former prime minister and a candidate in the 2004 presidential elections, had gained 25%.

The party is followed by the bloc of Yuliya Tymoshenko, a former prime minister and once a close ally of President Viktor Yushchenko, winning 16.2%.

Natalya Vitrenko's bloc People's Opposition hit 15.5%, while pro-presidential bloc Our Ukraine took 9.8%.

The other parties passing the 3% threshold needed for a party to make its way into the Supreme Rada are: the Socialist Party (6.3%), the Communist Party (4.4%), anti-Yushchenko bloc Ne Tak (3.9%) and Volodymyr Lytvyn with his eponymous bloc (3.1%).

The polls involved 350 polling stations throughout the country.
